The United States of America used to be a place – THE place – where people could dream of a better life. The basic premise of America is that if you work hard, you can achieve everything that you deserve. You can gain rewards that directly coincide with the effort that you put in. There is literally no other country on the planet that takes this as an ideal.
Perhaps the United States no longer takes this as an ideal, either.
John Schnatter, founder of Papa John’s Pizza, was forced to step down as chairman of his own company because of a claim that he used a racial slur on a conference call. Forget the context of the statement or the accusations that the other party on the call may have tried to blackmail Mr. Schnatter for $6 million. This is about how anything you say — even in confidence — can be used to strip away everything you have by the hard progressive left.
More importantly, how did we ever get into a space where a man can get kicked out of his own company for saying something on his own phone line, in his own building, talking with his own free speech? No one died. No one was hurt. Less than 25 people actually heard what was said. Where is the crime here?
We are living in an era of accusations. An accusation, levied against the right person, of course, holds more weight than an actual conviction. And since there is actually no crime here to charge Mr. Schnatter with, the only court in question here is the court of public opinion. Since when does this idea trump the idea of true justice, due diligence and due process?
America is at a crossroads, and we must turn this around.
It may seem a bit funny to rally around pizza. However, this is exactly what conservatives must do at this time. The joy that mainstream media is taking at the destruction of an American brand is more than distasteful. It is treasonous. It attacks the core principles of what this country was founded on. Moreover, it gives this media far too much power to indict, convict and punish people who are guilty of nothing. Literally nothing.
It is contingent upon all Americans to come together to tell the media that is not racism. Black conservatives – it is up to you to come forward and defend Mr. Schnatter in his time of need. Make no mistake. This is a rich man with private jets and multiple homes. Not even he can stand up to the onslaught of the liberal media, backed by the bully movements #MeToo, #blacklivesmatter and every other hashtag that ANTIFA and George Soros can come up with. If they can take down a multimillionaire, what chance do any of you have? What will you do when it is your turn to have your head on the chopping block?
America is in a bad place. An awful place. Right now, the attention is on Papa John’s, and we must rally around that call. This is about more than pizza. This is about the core values that the United States was built on. We are looking at the destruction of freedom of speech, the pursuit of happiness and the concept of free market capitalism. If we do not do something now, there may not be another chance.
